Neona is awarded an NIH T32 fellowship!
Our own Neona Lowe has received the prestigious T32 Pre-Doctoral Research Training Program Scholar Award (HL007013) from the UC Davis Lung Center. Neona is co-advised by Prof. Alyssa Panitch.
The Lung Center training grant program is an NIH sponsored initiative to provide interactive research environments, innovative and competitive research themes and projects, and training opportunities for trainees to become independent investigators in the areas of lung and pulmonary medicine-related biomedical research and medicine.
Neona's project was selected from a competitive pool of applicants and is titled: "Peptide-loaded extracellular vesicles (EVs) for targeted drug delivery". Her project seeks to utilize EVs as a novel drug delivery platform to combat pulmonary fibrosis.
When asked about how it felt to be a T32 Scholar, Neona said "Awesome."
